What are your rates and fees?

Standard Lesson Rates:

• 1 hour: $40

• 1/2 hour: $30

Travel Fees: Please ask for a quote.

I can travel to the student's address, or an agreed-upon location, at no extra charge if my travel is  within 5 miles.

Discounts:

• A student's first lesson (on each violin and viola) is Free!

• If a student refers a friend to join my music studio, both students will receive a discount on the following 3 lessons.

What is your typical process for
working with a new student?

At the first lesson, I will gauge the new student's knowledge and performance levels in these areas: proficiency in note reading, rhythm counting, posture, and basic ear training.

Students who are entirely new to the violin will be provided with a specially-selected set of excerpts from popular technique books. As lessons progress, I assign graduated repertoire to both challenge and inspire the students, according to their individual needs and interests.

What are your teaching qualifications?

I have achieved my Bachelor's of Music Degree in Viola Performance from the University of Arizona's "Fred Fox" School of Music, where I am currently pursuing my Master's of Music degree. I have been teaching violin and viola in Tucson since 2010, through private lessons, Tucson Junior Strings, Tucson Summer Music, Tucson Symphony Women's Association, and as a guest clinician at local schools including Utterback Middle School and Desert View High School.
